Despite a tragic start to the New York Air Show this past weekend county officials say the air show will return to Stewart International Airport in 2016.

The air show which was the first of it's kind in Orange County in several years proved to be an outstanding success. This even despite a tragic crash that sadly killed stunt pilot Andrew Wright on Friday.

On Sunday as the air show came to a close County Executive Steve Neuhaus confirmed that New York Air Show would return to Stewart next year:

“I have some great news to share with everyone. The New York Air Show will return to Stewart International Airport right here in Orange County next year. This weekend’s inaugural air show has been an overwhelming success and I’m sure next year will be great as well. I want to thank everyone who made the New York Air Show happen this year, from the organizers, to law enforcement on the scene this weekend, to the volunteers, to everyone at Stewart Airport!”
