In unrelated cases, two Hudson Valley residents are accused of stealing over $3,000 worth of merchandise from a local Walmart and Home Depot.

Teressa L. Mapes 42, of Kingston is accused of stealing $2,066.72 worth of merchandise from Walmart in the Town of Ulster. The thefts happened on two different occasions, police say.

Tyler J. Curlin, 21, of Kingston, alleged removed $1,364.92 worth of merchandise while he worked at the Home Depot in the Town of Ulster.

Both were charged with grand larceny, a felony. Mapes was also charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Mapes was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail. Curlin was released on an appearance ticket.
