A couple ended up in the hospital after their kayak capsized in the Hudson Valley.

On Friday just before noon, members of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office responded to a water emergency on the Rondout Creek in the area of the Eddyville Bridge in the Town of Ulster.

Deputies responded after a 911 call reported two people in the water after their kayak capsized just north of the Eddyville Bridge in the Town of Ulster.

Upon arrival, deputies learned the couple made it out of the water and were on the shoreline. They were evaluated by Mobile Life Support Services and then transported to the Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley, Broadway Campus Hospital for further evaluation. Their names haven't been released.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Town of Ulster Police, the Bloomington Fire Company and Mobile Life Support.
