A driver and his passenger are in ICU after their car drove off the road and landed on top of construction equipment in Orange County.

On Monday around 4:45 a.m., New Windsor Police responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on Blooming Grove Turnpike at the intersection of Farmstead road in New Windsor.

The car was traveling on Farmstead Road when the driver, identified as 30-year-old Quentin Swain, failed to negotiate turn. The car hit a tree and came to a complete stop on top of construction equipment located on the property of 25 Blooming Grove Turnpike, police say.

Swain and an unnamed female passenger were rushed to St Lukes Hospital and admitted into ICU. Officials did not release their injuries. Their current condition is unknown.

At this time the cause of the accident is unclear and New Windsor Police is continuing their investigation into the crash. If anyone witnessed the accident, or has any information, you are asked to contact the New Windsor Police Department at (845) 565-7000.
