Two teenagers, one that had an active arrest warrant, were arrested after police say they were driving with drugs, alcohol, and later tampered with evidence.

On Tuesday around 10:30 p.m., Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s office observed a vehicle traveling north on Route 209 in Accord with an equipment violation.

An investigation revealed the passenger, 19-year-old Leandra M. Salvador, of Monticello was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant issued by the Village of Monticello Police Department.

Police say the driver actively interfered with the investigation by removing items from the car in an attempt to conceal the items. The driver's charges were later dismissed.

Salvador was turned over to the Village of Monticello Police Department
