An investigation called “Operation DOPE” led to 29 suspects being charged, 13 that are still at large, in connection with drug sales in the Hudson Valley.

Yonkers Police announced a series of arrests which took place Thursday morning targeting street level drug dealers in Westchester. Operation “DOPE” (Drug Opiate Proactive Enforcement) was primarily focused on heroin and opiate sales.

29 suspects were targeted following an investigation that began in October 2015. Undercover Officers were utilized and large quantities of heroin, crack cocaine, and prescription medicines were allegedly purchased from street level dealers.

It marked the first heroin enforcement operation since the Yonkers Police Department announced their HEART initiative last April. The initiative focuses on assistance and prevention of heroin usage, with an enforcement facet to targets dealers.

Police say the 29 charged have a combined arrest history of 425 total arrests, some with extensive criminal histories. This investigation is ongoing and 13 of these suspects remain at large.
