Five people were killed by Tuesday's massive storm, all from trees falling on vehicles according to The Weather Channel. Two people killed were from the Hudson Valley region. One of them being an 11-year-old girl, who was killed in Newburgh by a tree falling on a car. 2 people were killed in Danbury and New Fairfield of Connecticut, and 1 person was killed in the Pocono region of Pennslyvania.

Tuesday's storm is still causing major problems in the local area, traffic and power issue linger. A state of emergency was announced in Dutchess County yesterday, but that was lifted early Wednesday.

Many claimed that tornadoes touched down in Saugerties and Mahopac. However, the only confirmed tornado sightings were in Patterson and Kent.

In an effort to help the public, an Orange County gym has opened its doors to the public offering free showers and access to power.
