Over the last few months, I have been looking for places to check out locally in the Hudson Valley. Pretty much, I have been looking for suggestions for places that might be off my radar, but are interesting and fun.

This last week one of the new interns here at WRRV, Lauren who goes to SUNY New Paltz, was sharing some info on places that I either did not know or had totally forgot about in New Paltz. Have you been to any of these places? Are there places in New Paltz (other than Lola's or Schatzi's) that you think I should check out? Let me know, Brandi@WRRV.com.

Here is what Lauren suggested and why:

  • Cafeteria Coffee House - "really cute coffee shop with free open mic nights on Monday nights, has a very vintage vibe"
  • Huckleberry - "you can eat a nice meal in their cozy interior, or sit outside by a fire pit on a warm night and have a few drinks and a bite to eat with friends, they also have game night on Thursdays"
  • McGillicuddy's Restaurant & Tap House - "Mondays are Wing Nights, starting at 4pm you can get 50 cent wings and at 9pm $5 Bud Light pitchers"
  • Snug Harbor - "local casual bar, often features live music, known for their friendly outgoing staff"
  • Minnewaska State Park - "a quick drive up the mountain, you can sit by the lake and picnic/fish/etc"

Do you have places in New Paltz that you want to share with us?
