Hard to believe it's been almost 14 years since the tragedy of September 11th but no matter how much time passes we surely will "Never Forget". Please take the time to reflect this friday to honor those who lives were lost or affected by the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001. Below is a list of various community events happening throughout the hudson valley on friday.

Sept. 11th Memorial Service at Stringham Park Lagrange, 8:30 am - 9:30 am

“Never Forget” 9-11 Memorial Service. Please join the LaGrange Sunrise Rotary at 8:30am Friday, Sept. 11th for a 9/11 Memorial Service at Stringham Park in the Town of LaGrange as we remember all those who lost their lives due to the terrorist attacks. City of Poughkeepsie 9/11 Memorial Dedication, 11am

The City of Poughkeepsie is having a 9/11 Memorial Dedication on 9-11-15 at 11am at City Hall. The City has received 2 steel beams from the World Trade Center and is erecting a memorial for the community. This memorial will be dedicated on that day and is a community event sponsored by local businesses. Please join us for this historic occasion.

Paul Tegtmeier Memorial Site, Hyde Park 6:30pm

Hyde Park will hold a candle light ceremony at the Paul Tegtmeier Memorial Site at Hackett Hill Park. The event begins at 6:30PM with the opening ceremony commencing 7PM.

Sgt. Mark Palmateer Park, Wappinger, 8:30am

The Town of Wappinger will hold a ceremony at 8:30AM at Sgt. Mark Palmateer Park, located at the corner of Route 9 and Old Hopewell Road. Come see phase two of the construction project that is almost complete.

The Putnam Heroes Memorial, Carmel, 7pm

The Putnam Heroes Memorial.org commemorate the 14th Anniversary of the 9-11 Attacks with a candle light vigil at 8 p.m. at Putnam Heroes Memorial Monument in Cornerstone Park, Route 52 and Fair Street. Guest speaker: Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney. A vigil Mass precedes the ceremony at 7 p.m. at St. James the Apostle Church, 14 Gleneida Ave.

The City of White Plains, 8am

The City of White Plains will fly six American flags from City Hall in honor of the six residents of White Plains who lost their lives on Sept. 11. The Recreation and Parks Department will hold a remembrance service at 8 a.m. at Liberty Park on Lake Street, the city’s permanent memorial site for these residents. The ceremony will include music, wreath laying, prayer, poem reading and tree planting in tribute to the victim’s families, first responders and men and women serving in our armed forces.

Rockland County, Haverstraw, 8:30am

Sept. 11th Memorial Service. Rockland County Executive Ed Day, Legislative Chairman Alden Wolfe and local officials will participate in a ceremony featuring prayer and song at 8:30 a.m. followed by a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. The names of the 81 Rockland County victims of the 2001 and 1993 World Trade Center attacks will be read by relatives at 9:03 a.m. Haverstraw Bay County Park, 21 Gagan Road.
