A Local Ulster County General Store Has Closed

It's another tough loss for the Hudson Valley. A local stop in Ulster County has closed their doors.

According to a Facebook post in a Rosendale community group The Tillson IGA (general store) located on 735 Springtown Road has closed down. The post on Facebook reads "The end of an era in the childhood of many. The Tillson IGA (General Store) has permanently closed. The building is still for sale."

Users in the comment section added that they will miss Tillson IGA's breakfast sandwiches and delicious deli items. There has been no official word on why the store is closed and building up for sale, but some are speculating that the owners are retiring.

The closing of the Tillson general store is just another addition the over 19 stores and businesses that closed in the Hudson Valley over the past year.

The College Diner, Oasis Cafe and Katana Sake Bar and Regal Cinema's in the Hudson Valley Mall also closed the door to their Ulster County businesses this year.
