Actor Bill Pullman will be descending upon the Hudson Valley this fall when accepts the Excellence in Acting Award on Oct. 14 as part of the Woodstock Film Festival. In addition, the film The Ballad of Lefty Brown will be shown which stars Pullman in the lead role.

Pullman will also take part in the annual Actor's Dialogue event on Sunday, Oct. 15 where festival attendees will have an opportunity to interact with him.

Pullman is a New Yorker at heart, he was born in Hornell in Steuben County. His role as President Thomas J. Whitmore in the 1996 film Independence Day remains one of his most popular parts. His speech before the final battle in the movie continues to inspire humans in our struggles against our alien invaders to this day.
