The New York State Liquor Authority and the Middletown Police caught five businesses in Middletown selling alcohol to minors over the weekend.

The Times Herald Record reports the operation stopped by a total of 41 locations, while less than a half dozen broke the law. A first offense for selling alcohol to minors comes with a $2,500 fine, while repeat offenses could lead to getting a liquor license pulled. Staff can also face misdemeanor charges for serving to minors.

  • La Mexicana Deli and Supermarket
