Police are reminding all Hudson Valley residents to teach their kids about the dangers of strangers after a number of reports of someone possibly attempting to lure children.

Just after school was let out last Thursday, three youths in Greenburgh reported that they noticed a white 4-door sedan, possibly a Honda, with an unknown Connecticut license plate. The driver allegedly slowly approached the group and began taking pictures.

Greenburgh Police described the suspicious driver as a white male between 60 and 70 years-old with glasses, a white beard and gray hair.

Authorities also received reports of a man fitting the same description following another child on Oct. 4 and Oct. 5. This time the man was operating a white van with New York plates. The man fled the area after he was approached by the child’s parents.

“Remind your kids… be careful…stranger danger,” Town of Greenburgh Police stated. “If you or your child ever see something suspicious don’t be shy! Report it to the police.”

The incidents are being investigated by Greenburgh Police Special Victims Unit. Anyone with information can contact the Greenburgh Police Department at 914-989-1710.
