Over the past year or two, we've seen more and more counties and towns in the Hudson Valley vote to raise their legal smoking age from 18 to 21. Orange County and Rockland County were the first to take this step, and now another has joined their ranks. Westchester County has just approved the change, with a vote of 16 to 1.

This comes shortly after New Castle, a town in Westchester County, voted to raise the age themselves. The idea behind the change is to decrease the sale of tobacco and get the numbers down for young smokers. If it's harder for kids to access cigarettes and other tobacco products, it stands to reason that there will be less of them smoking and getting addicted to nicotine.

At the rate this is going, it won't be long before every county in the Hudson Valley moves towards the higher age limit. Do you agree with the change, or should they keep it the way it was?
