It seems we cant get through a week without hearing about another recall affecting thousands, if not millions of vehicles in the U.S.

This time the vehicles in question are more than a decade old...and this isn't something little! GM has announced they will recall more than 1.41 million vehicles due to a defect that has caused more than a thousand engine fires!

The worst part...this isn't even the first time the automaker has encountered this issue...its the third recall in seven years for the same issue which affects several makes and model years ranging from 1991-2001. Some of the cars being recalled were even included in the previous recalls. So much for...fix it right the first time!

The latest recall includes 1.28 million sedans and coupes in the U.S. including all 3.8-liter, six-cylinder, 3800-engine models of the 1997-04 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2000-04 Chevrolet Impala, 1998-99 Chevrolet Lumina and 1998-2004Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 1998-99 Oldsmobile Intrigue and 1997-04 Buick Regal.

According to ABC News GM is still in the process of determining a fix for the issue. The company will then use state registration databases to track down owners and notify them by mail of the recall.
