We’re far enough from the premiere that you’d barely remember Arrested Development Season 4 as one of the first Netflix original offerings, but at long last, Season 5 might finally escape its own arrested development. Producer Brian Grazer says the last cast hurdles have been cleared, and news should be “happening soon.”

Mind you, Grazer has issued a number of promises toward future Arrested Development in recent years, though TCA press tour comments with The Wrap seem reasonably concrete:

I think we’re really close to pulling it off finally. All of the actors have agreed to do it and I think they’ve agreed to their compensation structure. That’s been the hardest–it’s all hard … But it should be happening soon.

Prior to that, creator Mitch Hurwitz had previously projected an early 2017 start:

We’re very close. It’s a thing I really am desperate to do. We’ve got a lot of the stories broken. We’re kinda ready to go. I’m so appreciative of the fans wanting more, I hate to tease them with information that there is going to be more until we know for sure, but it’s what we’re trying to accomplish and if does happen it looks like shooting would be at the start of 2017. That’s what I’m hoping.

Elsewhere, Will Arnett previously claimed that Netflix bosses “need to get their s— together,” while Hurwitz has also mapped out a large portion of Season 5, hoping to capitalize on eerie similarities to the November elections.

We’ve enough experience with Arrested Development Season 5 claims to raise an eyebrow at Grazer, but are the Bluths finally coming back?
