Hey, ya like corn? I know, who doesn't, especially fresh on the cob? A week from Sunday (the 10th) it's all about corn and more in Beacon as the folks from the Beacon Sloop Club hold their annual Corn Festival from noon to 5p at  Pete & Toshi Seeger Riverfront Park.

Not only will you get to enjoy locally grown Hudson Valley sweet corn on the cob for just a “Buck‐an‐Ear,” but there will also be fresh made chili, stone soup, refreshments and other summer treats. It also wouldn't be a proper 'fest' without live music and you can enjoy some great acts on two different stages, a main stage and the children's stage.

The main stage will bring you David & Jacob Bernz, Mara Levine & Caroline Cutroneo, Hank Waji, Caroline Doctorow, Spook Handy, Howland Cultural Center Community Chorus, Kurt Hauck and Cosby Gibson while over on the children’s stage the kids will get Jonathan Kruk, Hudson River Lore, Lydia Adams Davis, Young Kangaroo Republic, Missy Ornquist & Karen Brooks, Steve and Shirl Kaplan and others.

The music is also green...it will powered by solar trailers.

Besides plenty of corn there will also be craft and food vendors and a Farmer's Market with freshly baked breads and local veggies, cheese, eggs, flowers and more.

And the best part is that you can enjoy this great afternoon for free, both admission and parking. If you need more info give a call to (845) 527-8671 / 463-4660 or visit the Beacon Sloop Club online.

See you there!
