Police say a Beacon woman driving well below the speed limit was allegedly intoxicated and with a child in the car with her.

New York State Police from Stormville arrested 44-year-old Elizabeth Rosa, of Beacon for aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law, a class E felony.

Police say was Rosa was stopped on the Taconic State Parkway for traveling 15 MPH below the posted speed limit and for failing to maintain her designated lane of travel. An investigation revealed that Rosa was intoxicated.

Rosa was charged with felony DWI under Leandra’s Law for having a 14-year-old passenger in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.

Rosa supplied a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% and was released on her own recognizance by the direction of the Town of Beekman Justice Court. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Court at a later date.
