Cleanliness is next to godliness. You may try as best as you can to keep a clean home but regardless of your clean living, you are at risk of being exposed in the unlikeliest of places.

Bed bug infestations can occur easier than you think and actually way faster. The Scientific American states some common myths about bed bugs. One common myth is that they only live in beds. Bed bugs can live in cracks, crevices, electric outlets, thick carpeting and even office chairs. They don't like heat so they cannot stick to your flesh but they can travel on clothing and your pets' fur.

When we asked if anyone in the area has experienced a bed bug infestation the response was overwhelming and a little shocking.

I work for a certain large healthcare facility in the area, and at one point their surgery center actually had a bedbug infestation. - Anonymous

According to News 10 ABC, the New York State Comptrollers office is currently experiencing a bed bug infestation. New York City is also facing large amounts of bed bug nests as well. The Hudson Valley seems to be right in the middle.
