You might not realize it, but we're in the midst of a brewing renaissance here in New York state. From the Hudson Valley to Long Island to the City to the Southern Tier to wayyyyy upstate and beyond, you are always a pint glass throw away from good, local, well-crafted beer. Although, you really shouldn't be throwing pint glasses. They're glass and they're fairly heavy. Someone could get hurt. Plus, it's a waste of a valuable beer vessel. What's wrong with you?

So with so many great breweries in the area (the Hudson Valley especially being a major hotspot for excellent beer), it's pretty exciting that we get a chance to get to enjoy them on the banks of the Hudson River at the Hudson River Craft Beer Fest in Beacon on September 19th. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, snag them here while you can; this is an event that sells out and for good reason.

One of those good reasons, among the many other breweries that will be there is Rushing Duck based out of Chester. They've been making some of the best beer around; regardless of your preference in style, they'll have something you like.

They've only visited WRRV once (something I really need to fix soon), but you can find out everything you need to know here:

And by the way, in addition to their other incredible beers (War Elephant and Beanhead are favorites), I can say without hesitation or hyperbole that their barrel-aged Ded Moroz is one of the best beers I've ever had in my life. It's not quite the season for that yet, but I'm sure they're going to have something great up their sleeve for their appearance at the Hudson River Craft Beer Fest.

If you still haven't bought tickets, A.) you're crazy, B.) you need to go here.
