This is the time of year to get outside and enjoy the Hudson Valley before we all start complaining about the winter weather. Here are a few places to check out, with and without the family.

  • Big Wine Festival, Oct. 4, 11am-4pm, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Bethel. Over 20 wineries from NYS, $20.
  • Out on the Farm, Oct. 5, 4-8pm at Sprout Creek Farm, Poughkeepsie, music and dancing, hay rides. BYOB (wines, spirits, beer and all beverages welcome). $25.
  • Winery Tours With the Owner, October 5, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Whitecliff Vineyard, in Gardiner
  • Applefest all throughout the Village of Warwick, Oct. 5, 10am-5pm. Family friendly events celebrating Apples. Multiple locations participating.
  • Grand Cru Tasting Team welcomes Keegan Ales, Oct 09 at Grand Cru Beer & Cheese Market, Rhinebeck
  • 2014 Bethel Woods Craft Beer Festival & Chili Cook-Off, Oct 11, at Bethel Woods Center for The Arts
  • Soup-A-Bowl, Oct. 6, 11am-3:30pm at the Vassar College Alumnae House, Poughkeepsie, money raised goes to support the Poughkeepsie Farm Project and friends at Vassar College's Alumnae House. Includes lunch and a bowl of pottery to take home. $25 Adults, $10 for Children.
  • Hudson Valley Beer, Wine, Spirits & Cider Summit 2.0 (fl oz) Oct. 9, 7:30am-12pm The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, free to attend, but you must RSVP.
  • Cider Tasting 2014, Oct. 11, 11am-3pm, Kimlin Cider Mill, Poughkeepsie Great Fall Family event, with monies raised to go toward, the restoration of the Kimlin Cider Mill. Free admission. $10 Cider Tasting. $5 BBQ Meal.
  • Wine Farmers Market, Gardiner, October 11, 2014 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, this will be the last one of the season.
