Ben Folds Announces New Music, Local Tour Dates

Ben Folds has a new album on the way. He says his latest studio effort is a collaboration with New York City instrumental group yMusic and is expected to be available digitally this spring. They recorded the album over a two-week period in Nashville, New York and Los Angeles. (No name for the album yet.) 

Ben says he "can't recall every being quite so excited about an album." He describes it as "straight up rock" with "odd instrumentation" that includes everything from pianos and cellos to French horns and bass clarinets.

The combination of Ben Folds and yMusic will be hitting the road together later this year. The U.S. trek starts April 23 in Portland, Maine, and also includes a stop at Bonnaroo in June.
