Well, if he was in the band yesterday, I'm guessing after this interview with Rolling Stone he might want to bid a hasty retreat.

Yesterday, Blink-182 released a press release saying Tom DeLonge was indefinitely out of the band, and that Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio would be filling in for him in live performances in the immediate future.

Tom then took to Instagram to say he had not quit the band, claiming he was very much still in.

"I actually was on a phone call about a blink 182 event for New York City at the time all these weird press releases started coming in... Apparently those releases were 'sanctioned' from the band."

WELL! In the latest turn to this story, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker did a full on interview with Rolling Stone and dropped some pretty serious claims about DeLonge. Yes, Tom did not "quit the band", but it is blindingly apparent that he is not longer with them, and won't be for the forseeable future.

Hoppus said, "The press release that came out today is 100 percent from Travis and me and we stand by it 100 percent because it's all true. There's no ambiguity."

He goes on to say, "It's been years of pushing back and I have to tell you: It feels humiliating to be in a band where you have to be apologizing for one person all the time. That's how it's felt for a long time."

Yikes. I love me some Blink-182, but this isn't the first time this stuff has come up. I've got to think the band will be better moving forward without all the hidden anger. Also, Matt Skiba is excellent. Here's hoping he can step in and kill it.
