Students have been cleared out of a local middle school. Reports say that a threat has caused the principal to evacuate the school.

According to the Times Herald Record, Monhagen Middle School in Middletown received a bomb threat this morning. Superintendent Ken Eastwood tells the paper that the threatening call was received around 10am this morning. The threat is being investigated by police who are making a sweep of the school.

After the all-clear is given students will return to classes. Currently, the Monhagen students are being looked after at Maple Hill Elementary School.

This is not the first time a school in Orange County has been evacuated. In April, Monroe-Woodbury high school was cleared out after a suspicious note was discovered in a bathroom.
