Could there possibly be a new album in the works from the Breeders? Earlier today, they sent out a greeting to their fans that included a 10-second clip of music.

They tweeted out "Good morning!" and clicking on the video that was embedded unleashed some power chords and drums and someone that sounds like Kim or Kelley Deal wishing us all a good day. It could just be a little bit of silliness, but, if it turns out to be a sign that they are in the studio, it could result in the first new music from them since 2009's Fate to Fatal EP. Their last full-length was Mountain Battles, which came out in 2008.

Next month, the Breeders will embark on a two-week tour of Europe. Then, after opening up for Arcade Fire in St. Paul on Oct. 29 and Chicago on Oct. 30, they'll do a two-week stretch of headlining dates in the U.S., beginning Nov. 1 at the Magic Stick in Detroit and concluding at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on Nov. 13. You can see the entire calendar below and get full details at their website.

After a handful of lineup changes, since 2012, the band has consisted of the lineup that appeared on their hit 1993 album Last Splash: Kim and Kelley Deal (vocals and guitars), bassist Josephine Wiggs and drummer Jim Macpherson.
