Police arrested a Bronx woman after they say she was caught trying to smuggle drugs into a local prison while in the care of children.

Esthella Walker, 41, of the Bronx was charged with 1st-degree promoting prison contraband, a felony, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.

State Police at Ellenville say Walker came to the Ulster Correctional Facility on Sunday to visit her husband who is incarcerated. A further investigation by the Department of Correctional Services and the State Police found Walker allegedly to be in possession of Suboxone pills after entering the facility, all while her two young daughters were with her.

Walker was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wawarsing Court on May 27, 2016 at 8:30am.
