Bruce Springsteen Raises $600K for Military Charity With Lasagna
Ok. I love lasagna. You like lasagna. Bruce Springsteen has the world's most expensive.
(Keep in mind, I make a mean lasagna and am willing to auction one off for charity too. Email me brandi@wrrv.com)
A lasagna dinner at the Boss' home sold for a whopping $300,000 at the 8th annual Stand Up For Heroes charity concert Wednesday night.
Springsteen, 65, also raffled off a package including a one-hour guitar lesson, a ride in the sidecar of his motorcycle and a guitar, helping to raise a hefty $600,000 for military service members and their families upon their return home.
"You may have a guitar lesson or simply waste my time," Springsteen joked on stage. He originally offered only the guitar and lesson for a starting price of $75,000. But as the bidding heated up to $250,000, he decided to throw in dinner date, the ride and even the gray v-neck shirt off his back as the audience cheered.
A fan offered a deal: he'd throw in $300,000 for the lasagna dinner if the other bidder bumped his price to $300,000 for the whole package. The music superstar and the other fan agreed.
So... anyone? bidding starts at $30... I can make it with or without meat....
