This Halloween turn your extra candy into smiles for the troops. You have heard of the "Great Pumpkin" but what about the "Great Halloween Candy Exchange"? Here are all the details for you: The 9th Annual Great Halloween Candy Exchange will take place on Saturday, November 1.  According to a memo from Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, “For every pound of candy donated at one of the designated drop-off sites, children will receive a free, age-appropriate new book or a free fun pass. This year’s choices include: a general admission pass to a 2015 Hudson Valley Renegades game, a mini-golf pass to Overlook Golf and Recreation Center, a family skate pass to McCann Ice Arena, or a family fitness pass to All Sport Health and Fitness.”  In addition to swapping out their candy, kids are also encouraged to write letters to the troops.  Last year, over 2000 pounds were sent to the troops stationed overseas. Drop off locations will be open from 10am to 2pm this Saturday, November 1, 2014.
