If you can't find the Classic NES game console anywhere in the Hudson Valley, we have a solution for you.

The Nintendo Classic Mini NES is a small version of the old Nintendo Entertainment System that comes pre-loaded with 30 of the system's most popular games. Classic video game fans were lined up as early as 5am on November 11 at the Poughkeepsie Toys R Us hoping to get their hands on one of only 10 gaming consoles available.

Since then there have been only a few more shipments that have arrived in our area to stores like Target, Walmart and Gamestop. But those deliveries usually only bring a handful of consoles that are quickly snatched up.

As a huge classic gaming fan who raced out to get the retro Atari system when it was first released I'm going to let you in on a secret; You really don't want this console as much as you think you do.

Sure, it's fun to eat those 'member berries and play The Legend of Zelda or Punch Out just like when you were a kid. But seriously, the fun only lasts for a few minutes until you realize how dated these games really are. And you'll be surprised how quickly you remember the secrets to winning each game. The whole experience is kind of like re-reading your favorite book. It's still great, but never as exciting as the first time around.

So while I'd suggest holding off on paying upwards of $250 on Ebay for the $60 system, that doesn't mean you can't get your NES fix right now.
