This road trip never should've left the driveway.

New Hampshire State Police stopped a driver who had piled on a department store's worth of goods on its roof on Wednesday.

Cops pulled over the driver in the town of Londonderry when they noticed the vehicle, looking like some sort of cross of The Beverly Hillbillies and National Lampoon's Vacation.

Clearly, the driver had either never heard of U-Haul or was just has a pile of debt higher than the items of his roof and was too cheap to pay for any sort of moving van.

The 57-year-old driver was given a summons for negligent driving and driving an uninspected vehicle. The car, meanwhile, was towed and we can only assume the tow truck driver was sweating bullets hoping he didn't spill anything on the way back to his yard.
