President's Day is this Monday, and while it was originally created to commemorate the birthday of George Washington, it has now become a day to celebrate all of our President's, both past and present.

We are especially lucky here in the Hudson Valley. Do you know how many presidential sites we have within easy driving distance? You could make this President's Day weekend, the one where you learn a little more about not only Hudson Valley History, but our country's history as well.

Here's a few places that would be perfect to visit this weekend.

Martin Van Buren National Historic Site in Kinderhook. While he bought this house after he lbeing the 8th President of the United States, he was born and raised in upstate New York and this is the home he lived in for over 20 years until his death.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt Library and Museum in Hyde Park, you can tour his home Springwood, as well as see his presidency through many and varied museum exhibits. You can even pay your respects at his, and his wife's Eleanor's, gravesites.
