AT&T customers have until Friday to apply for a refund for unwanted charges on their cell phone bill. Senator Chuck Schumer wanted to remind people of this and he is urging AT&T customers (especially) to call a toll-free hotline, 877-819-9692, to find out if they are eligible.

A report in USA Today says the unwanted charges come from "cramming," which is when third-party vendors of ringtones and other subscriptions charge their fees on your monthly phone bill.  Sen. Schumer said the AT&T deadline may be extended if not enough customers apply for refunds.  AT&T Customers click here for the claim form

T-Mobile customers have until the end of June to apply for cramming refunds. If you are a T-Mobile customer, click here to see if you are eligible for a rebate. Sprint and Verizon are still negotiating with federal regulators.
