Chris Robinson stopped to chat at Mountain Jam 2016 about the spacey sound of his new music and the preoccupations that fuel it. "Inspiration is always the least of our worries," the onetime Black Crowes frontman told us. "Our planet and our culture and our society [are] giving us a lot of trying, anxiety-filled things to deal with."

Robinson now fronts Chris Robinson Brotherhood, a groovy, psychedelic outfit that played this year's Mountain Jam and will soon release their fourth record, Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel. The band has more in common with the spacey excursions of the Grateful Dead than the boozy blues of the Crowes. But genres, Robinson insists, are beside the point. Watch Robinson discuss that and some of his favorite new music in the entire interview in the video above.
