Corey Taylor Stops Stone Sour Show Mid-Song for Concertgoer in Need of Medical Attention
Stone Sour took some time to make sure a fan who was either ill or injured received medical attention at a recent show in Sydney, Australia. During the band’s encore, a concertgoer suffered an apparent medical emergency, causing frontman Corey Taylor to stop “Gone Sovereign” mid-song.
Stone Sour just finished up a quick run of tour dates in Australia and New Zealand. On Aug. 26 at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, Stone Sour were 15 songs into their set when Corey Taylor noticed something was amiss in the crowd.
“Hold on, hold on, stop,” Taylor said while signaling at drummer Roy Mayorga. “Okay, everybody back up, there seems to be a medical issue. Make some room so the professionals can get in there, guys.” Taylor checked in with the young fan as he was being helped by medical workers. Bassist Johny Chow also stood by Taylor at the front of the stage to make sure everything was alright.
“That’s scary s—t, man,” Taylor said before checking with the crowd multiple times to make sure everyone was alright. Once convinced that the pit was safe for everyone in attendance, Stone Sour resumed their show and finished up with “Absolute Zero” and “Fabuless.”
