Update Monday 1:00 p.m.: This story has been updated to reflect one local store's reported closing.

It’s possible that another Hudson Valley restaurant could be closing its doors in the near future.

Ruby Tuesday announced that 95 under-performing locations will close by the end of September. The move is in part to help cut losses.

The locations to be shut down have not been released. In the Hudson Valley there are Ruby Tuesday restaurants in Fishkill, Poughkeepsie, Kingston and Middletown.

On Ruby Tuesday's national website, the Kingston location isn't listed.  A Google search does list the restaurant, buy says it's permanently closed.  No one picked up when we called the Kingston location. Calls to Ruby Tuesday's corporate office were not returned.

There are unconfirmed reports that workers showed up to the Kingston Ruby Tuesday on Monday to find out the location had been closed. Workers were not told. They learned of the restaurant's closure by a note on the door and the locks changed.

Some people have told Hudson Valley Post that the Middletown Ruby Tuesday has also been closed. Once again calls to the corporate office were not returned.

The company released their fourth quarter and fiscal year financial results that showed total revenue dropped 5.9 percent, to $279.3 million.

"The decision to close restaurants is a difficult but necessary step as we take aggressive actions to strengthen our organization," JJ Buettgen, the CEO stated.” "Performance at each of these locations, despite the loyalty of valued guests and the efforts of our dedicated employees, was not meeting expectations."

Closing 95 of the company’s 724 locations is expected to make up a large portion of the $43.8 million expense that reduced net earnings.

Buettgen announced that employees impacted by the closures will be offered positions at nearby locations, when possible.

Restaurants that remain open will be participate in Ruby Tuesday’s new “Fresh Start Initiative,” a plan that hopes to improve food and beverage offering, dining environment, and service. The fresh start will be rolled out in phases across multiple markets throughout the coming quarters.
