The Crayola company says using its colored pencils as makeup is a bad idea.  The warning came this week as they respond to beauty bloggers that are posting videos on YouTube showing people how to use the pencils as eyeliner.  The art supply company says that even thought the items are labeled "non-toxic" this doesn't mean they're safe to be used as cosmetics.

"As the manufacturer of children's products, safety is our top priority at Crayola," the company said on its website. "Although our products are nontoxic, we do not recommend using them to make lipstick, eyeliner or other make-up and strongly discourage their use in this manner. They are not designed, tested or approved for this purpose."
