CVS has filed noticed with the New York state Department of Labor that they will be laying off 99 lower Hudson Valley workers. The pharmacy office in Chestnut Ridge are affected, and the move is expected to be completed by May 31st.

Lohud reports the workload will be absorbed by locations in Plainview, Ballston Spa and Whippany, New Jersey. The business operated under their Omnicare brand, while economic issues are sited as the reason for the layoffs. Those affected will be eligible to apply for other positions within the company.

CVS acquired the Fortune 500 Omnicare in 2015 for $12.7 billion, they provide pharmacy services to long term care facilities across America. The company had nearly 13,000 employees spread over 47 states who were added to the CVS network. CVS has more than 7,800 retail locations and 1,000 walk in medical clinics.

CVS recently announced they'd be selling a less expensive alternative to the Epi Pen.
