Deuce’s Beer of the Week: Tröegs Nugget Nectar

Hopheads, rejoice! It's been a while since we've done a full-fledged hardcore, hoppy-as-hell beer and now that the weather is starting to warm up a bit, the time is right.

Tröegs Nugget Nectar fits the bill exactly. Coming in at a healthy 93 IBU (International Bitterness Units), this beer--which is only available for a few months at the beginning of the year--is a favorite for those who love a nice hop bite. It's actually an imperial amber ale instead of an imperial pale ale, which gives it a little more malty sweetness in the body, but don't worry: with its combination of Nugget, Warrior, and Tomahawk hops, it will satisfy your need for citrusy bitterness.

Plus, what beer has that combination of cool-as-heck hop names? I think the Nuggets, Warriors, and Tomahawks were all original ABA teams.
