Like to discover great scenery from the seat of your bike? This Sunday, June 26, Bike New York will be spending time here in the Hudson Valley. There will be multiple length rides available for rides of all ages and abilities throughout Dutchess, Ulster and Columbia counties.

The rides will all begin and end at Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie (near the Metro North train station) and have a focus featuring the Walkway Over the Hudson.

Rides are available in 15, 33, 55, 75 and 100 miles. Bike New York will have rest areas, bike repair stations, along with support gear vehicles along the way. Plus at the end of your ride there will be a 'finishers festival' with food vendors, live music and merchandise for sale.

The money raised from the event will go toward Bike New York's free bike education programs.

Some guidelines from the BikeNY website about the event:

  • The event will take place rain or shine, so be prepared.
  • Keep in mind that this event takes place on streets that are open to traffic.
  • Yes, helmets are required on all Bike New York rides.
  • New York State law requires that all cyclists have and use a bike bell.
  • Bags are allowed, but there is no bag check.
