A fight over chicken has lead one man to face a year behind bars.

Police say 53 year-old Tyrone Gardner had returned to his grill after stepping away in March 2014 when he found one piece of his chicken missing. Gardner suspected that a neighbor was the culprit.

This is where things really get crazy.

Police say the Ludington, Michigan man stabbed the neighbor in the leg with a four-pronged pitchfork.

The Ludington Daily News and The Muskegon Chronicle report that the chicken stabber wasn't arrested till October 2015, as police say he had left the state. He pleaded guilty in November to attempted assault with a dangerous weapon as a habitual offender.

He received his one year sentence on Tuesday.

Gardner says he didn't intend to seriously hurt or kill the neighbor.
