Remix supergenius Andy Rehfeldt has done it again! This time around, Rehfeldt took Disturbed’s cover of “The Sound of Silence” and turned it into a polka jam.

There are certain songs that simply shouldn’t be touched and before Disturbed came along, Simon & Garfunkel’s melancholic anthem “The Sound of Silence” was on that “no covers allowed” list. However, Disturbed proved naysayers wrong, rejuvenating the classic cut and selling over a million copies in the U.S. Disturbed’s live performance of the song on Conan even got them a 2017 Grammy nomination for Best Rock Performance.

Now that Disturbed have given Simon & Garfunkel a metal tinge, it’s time to give Disturbed their own 180 with a polka rendition of “The Sound of Silence.” Andy Rehfeldt isolated David Draiman’s vocals, stripped the song’s lush orchestration and popped in some sweet accordion and tuba. This should get the old folks slam dancing!
