Whiteout conditions across the Hudson Valley Wednesday afternoon made travel dangerous and visibility nearly non-existent. Tim Dressel of Dressel Farms in New Paltz was looking out the back window as the storm was rolling in and hit record. He was able to capture the dramatic difference between a regular winter day on the farm and a day like yesterday.

The storm really starts picking up in intensity at about the 45-second mark in the video. Within just seconds visibility goes from a few miles to just a few hundred yards.

Many schools across the region were greeted with 2-hour delays only to be informed of early dismissals right around kids were getting dropped off. Kudos to local officials for getting the call right as the series of intense snow squalls moved through the area just as many schools would have been getting out.

Thanks to Tim Dressel for the footage, Dressel Farms is a family run farm located on Route 208 in New Paltz.
