The Hudson Valley movie business continues to heat up. A feature film set to shoot in the area seeks crew for the movie including a certified drone operator. The Hudson Valley Film Commission is assisting in finding staff for the production. Also needed is a set decorator, set dresser and a prop master. Productions assistant positions will need to be filled as well.

Anyone interested in being a part of the movie should email filmcommission@me.com. Please note, they'll be forwarding all resumes to the production team and will not be able to answer any specific questions about the project.

How does one become a certified drone operator you might ask? According to UAVCoach.com, you must pass an aeronautical test at an approved testing center. You must be at least 16 years of age. You must also be vetted by the Transportation Security Administration.

Once you get certified, you have to pass a recurrent aeronautical test every two years. And if you do screw up and have any accidents you must report it to the FAA within 10 days or you'll get a fine.

There is an increasing number of opportunities for Hudson Valley drone operators, you'll just want to make sure you go about getting your license to fly the right way.
