Driving under the influence is never a good idea but it got a whole lot worse for one man after he ran into a New York State Trooper's patrol car, authorities said.

According to New York State Police, Troopers were investigating an unrelated accident in the city of White Plains Sunday evening when a 2006 Honda Civic ran right into the back of a parked patrol car.

The driver, later identified as 32-year-old Luis P. Zhinin, was allegedly intoxicated and arrested. Zhinin was charged with driving while intoxicated and released to a sober third party.

The Trooper and driver of the other vehicle were uninjured.
