A Dutchess County High School student was arrested for allegedly making a terroistic threat at the high school he attends.

On Tuesday around 9:30 a.m., New York State Police from Poughkeepsie responded to Millbrook High School, located on Church Street, to investigate a threat of school violence.

Following an investigation conducted by the State Police, a 17-year-old male student from Clinton Corners was charged with making a terroristic threat, a class D felony.

Police say the student made a verbal threat of school violence. At this time, there is no known information indicating there ever was a credible threat to the school.

The unnamed defendant was arraigned in the Town of Washington Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bond. He is due to return to the Washington Town Court on June 28.
