If you find yourself as part of the Sandwich Generation, those who are raising their children while also taking care of an aging parent, you know how hard this can be. The challenges are many, the choices are hard, and your stress level can go through the roof. You probably will find yourself researching daycare centers or schools while, at the same time, trying to figure out how Medicare works.

It’s not easy and often times getting information can be a very frustrating process. But, there is help on the way for you as well as for area seniors. The Dutchess County Office of the Aging will present a series of Senior Seminars on Nov. 3 at the New Hackensack Reformed Church on 376, just south of the Dutchess County Airport.

This event has grown in popularity in recent years to the point that space and parking limitations require that anyone who is interested in attending to preregister. There are 11 seminars on the schedule for this year covering a wide range of topics such as Wills, Trusts, and Financial Abuse; Age Discrimination; Parkinson's Disease; Veteran's Services; Medicare Tips, Alzheimer’s Disease, Organizing vs. Hoarding and much more.

You can choose up to three seminars to attend, but don't wait, they will fill up quickly. Call 845-486-255 to register. You just might get the help you’ve been needing so that you can not only take better care of the people in your life, but reduce your stress as well.
