Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, several changes were made to the Dutchess County Office Building at 22 Market Street in Poughkeepsie.

County DPW workers were ordered to cut the lettering off of the building's facade, because, you know, terrorists can't find a building when the address isn't on it. (The address was later put back on the building.)

Another change to the building was preparation for a metal detector to be installed in the lobby, along with a door allowing certain employees to bypass the scanning procedure. The door was installed and it is still in place. The same cannot be said for the metal detectors.

If you've ever visited the DMV office at 22 Market Street, you've likely walked past the door without even realizing its existence.
