A Dutchess County man was jailed on $50,000 bail bond for sending texts.

On Tuesday, New York State Police from the Rhinebeck arrested 21-year-old Joseph R. Pasqualina of Hyde Park for second-degree criminal contempt, class A misdemeanor.

On Monday, troopers were dispatched to a Rhinebeck home for a reported order of protection violation. An investigation indicated that Pasqualina repeatedly sent text messages to the protected party which violated a no-contact order of protection, police say.

The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision was contacted when troopers learned that Pasqualina was released, under the supervision of parole, on Dec. 15 for a third-degree robbery conviction.

Pasqualina was arraigned in the Town of Rhinebeck Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. He is due to appear in Rhinebeck Court on Dec. 30.

State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
