A near 10 month undercover investigation into drug sales in Ulster County led to the arrest of a Dutchess County man.

In July, Members of the ULSTER REGIONAL GANG ENFORCEMENT NARCOTICS TEAM (URGENT) began an investigation into narcotics sales in the Town of New Paltz.

Police say 30-year-old Joseph P. Jamieson, of East Fishkill sold crack cocaine to an undercover officer, resulting in an arrest warrant later being obtained.

Jamieson has been in the Dutchess County jail since late in 2015 on unrelated charges. On Thursday, Jamieson was taken into custody by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office after a court appearance in Westchester County.

Jamieson was charged with 3rd-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies.

He was arraigned in Marbletown Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is due in New Paltz Court at a later time.
