BETHEL – Following their triumphant sold-out concert at Shandelee Music Festival’s Sunset Concert Series, The Manhattan Chamber Players will open the fall season of P.L.A.Y. the Classics on Thursday, September 14 at the Bethel Woods Event Gallery.

P.L.A.Y. the Classics, a collaboration between the Shandelee Music Festival and Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, is in its second year of bringing classical music to Sullivan County.

The Manhattan Chamber Players were formed in 2015 by Artistic Director Luke Fleming. Comprised of an impressive roster of musicians, the performers all come from the tradition of great music making at venues like the Marlboro Music Festival, Steans Institute at Ravinia, Music@Menlo,Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival and Perlman Music Program. They are former students of the Curtis Institute, Juilliard, Colburn, New England Conservatory, and the Yale School of Music.

Strings Magazine recently said a performance by the Manhattan Chamber Players “… felt refreshingly like an auditory version of a vertical wine tasting ... Overall, I wished I could put them on repeat.”

Performing at the September 14 concert are pianist David Fung, violist Luke Fleming, cellist Michael Katz, violinist Siwoo Kim, violist Molly Carr, and violinist Yuval Herz. They will be performing the music of Haydn, Schumann and Mozart.
